Dear Market lovers,
As a valued customer of ours, we would like to reassure you all that we remain vigilant and understand the community concern about COVID-19.
Earlier this week, the Federal Government implemented a ban on all non-essential indoor gatherings of more than 100 people and continues the ban on non-essential outdoor gatherings of more than 500 people.
This does not impact our usual trading at this stage and Fremantle Markets will continue to trade as normal until such advice is issued. However, we're asking customers to limit your visits to 40 minutes at a time to help with social distancing recommendations.
Fremantle Markets continues to play an essential role in our community - providing access to shopping and dining as well as essential household items, products and services. And to date, no incidences of COVID-19 have been reported within the Fremantle Markets location.
As it is a rapidly changing situation, our utmost priority is to keep our staff, shoppers and visitors safe and we're taking every precaution to ensure that the guidelines set by the Australian Department of Health are being upheld by continuing to reduce unnecessary risk and the spreading of COVID-19.
Along with our existing protocols, extra measures have been put in place and we have also increased our already vigorous cleaning procedures to include:
With the following precautionary measures further taking place at the Markets:
We also take this time to ask that if you are planning on visiting the Fremantle Markets in the following weeks, that as individuals, can you please keep the following in mind:
Further, if you have travelled overseas recently; you've had contact with anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19; or if you are feeling unwell - particularly if you have flu-like symptoms, in the interests of containing the virus and respecting everybody that visits Fremantle Markets, please do not visit us until you have been tested or have made a full recovery.
We would like to thank you for your assistance and continued support in this matter. The Fremantle Markets will continue to monitor the Department of Health alerts and provide any important updates as soon as they become available.
Natasha Atkinson, CEO, Fremantle Markets
Please note: the Fremantle Buskers Festival, which was due to take place this weekend, has now been postponed until further notice.
