FREMANTLE MARKETS CHEESE & WINE FESTIVAL

Friday 17th - 19th September

There’s no need to be blue, because Fremantle Markets is hosting a Cheese & Wine Festival for Perth’s local connoisseurs!

Hosted by Fremantle’s Markets' very own Treat Me Fancy, and Cowaramup Wines, this event will have you positively melting as you walk through the door.

This event is not to be missed, as we have imported over 100 rare lines from Holland, France, Italy and more! These cheeses are extremely rare to see in WA, so you don’t want to miss out on this must-visit weekend.

What’s better? We’ll be offering FREE tastings of all of these rare sheep, cow and goat’s milk cheeses!

Take a look at some of the beautiful products that will be on offer throughout the weekend:

  • Livradois Montboissier - France
Pressed cheese made from pasteurized milk, this cheese has a layer of Burgundy grape running down the centre.
  • Ubriaco Vino Riserva - Italy
This drunken cheese has been soaked in red wine and cellared for 14-15 months. Using milk from grazing mountain cows.
  • Black Garlic Manchego - Spain
This pasteurized sheep cheese from the La Mancha region of Spain is cured for six months minimum.
  • Honey Goats Cheese - Holland
This cheese is creamy and full of flavour, made of Dutch goats milk. Washed in a solution containing honey, which gives this cheese its unique flavour.
  • Guinness Cheddar - UK
Infused with the distinct taste of Guinness. A bold, delicious and malty cheese.
  • Brillat Savarin Affine - France
An indulgent triple cream cheese from France. Contains 75% butter fat and a thin edible snowy rind.
  • Beemster Medium - Holland
Gold medal winner, this distinct yet refined cheese has a wonderfully creamy texture and depth of flavour.
  • Beaufort D’Alpage - France
This alpine cheese is a crown jewel for the French. It has a dense, pliable texture with bold flavours.
  • Taleggio DOP - Italy
This beautiful soft cheese has a strong taste, pink rind, with green mould.
  • Truffle Gouda - Holland
Dutch farmhouse cheese made with Italian black truffle from the mountains.
  • De Vino - Italy
Founded just after the end of WWII, this cheese is matured in wine by being placed in full red wine barrels for 30 days.
  • Crémeux de Bourgogne - France
This sweet, milk, milky cheese is so delicate it will simply melt in your mouth. Unlike many triple creams, this has a thin rind that imparts mushroom aroma.

We’re very privileged to be partnering with Treat Me Fancy for this festival, a family-owned business with a passion for quality foods from all over the world. Along with their large
assortment of cheeses, you’ll also be able to find delicious antipasto, hand-made grazing boards, and custom-made cheese platters!

Clownfish Wines, another family-owned business, specialise in two ranges of wines; the Cowaramup Reserve, and the lightly wooded or unwooded Clownfish range. Try the drops for
yourself and make sure to pick up a bottle!

Brought to you by Fremantle Markets, the oldest municipal market in Australia, that boasts over 150 stalls each as unique as the next. We strive to be a place where visitors can dine, shop and
be entertained, while retaining the element of nostalgia that you can only experience when you’re in a historical landmark.

Fremantle Markets encourages the responsible service and consumption of alcohol. Antisocial behaviour is prohibited and will result in removal of the premises.
